Nate Matos

Performance Coach

Nate brings over a decade of hands-on training experience to DBC, with a background built at the intersection of elite athletics and everyday performance. A former Division 1 Sports Performance Coach, he holds a master's degree in Kinesiology and Sports Psychology and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.

His specialties span sports performance, body recomposition, posture restoration, and strength and conditioning; a combination that lets him work equally well with competitive athletes and general population clients chasing aesthetic and strength goals.

With an approach rooted in demonstrated expertise and measurable results, he believes a coach should be able to show, not just tell that keep clients motivated and engaged over the long haul.

His assessment process reflects the same efficiency-first mindset; rather than running clients through a lengthy battery of tests, Nate uses dual-purpose movements like push-up and pull-up assessments to gauge strength and endurance while simultaneously flagging movement inefficiencies. From there, his mission is to build a training experience that merges the discipline of athletic performance programming with the physique-focused goals most general population clients bring to the table.

Beyond his current role, he holds additional certifications in USAW and CPR. Matos began his coaching career as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of New Mexico.
